Easton Diablo bolts vs Black Eagle Diablos

Post by Calmond »

What are the main differences between the two? Easton Diablos came with my 380 and I thought I was ordering more of the same, but what I got are Black Eagle Diablos. I think the Black Eagles are probably a higher quality bolt, but I am wondering if there should be much difference in how a 150 get broadhead would fly. Thanks

If I’m not mistaken Black Eagle now makes all arrows for Excalibur instead of Easton

Easton shafts came with my crossbow last year. Mine shoots the Diablo shafts from Easton pretty good.

Good question, if you can weigh them you will find one might be heavier. The inside diameter is different as well. As for one being better than the other, not really sure. Both work well, I prefer Black Eagles because the components were easier to get.

....if they are Black Eagle I believe they are 9 grains per inch; at least that is what BE Executioners and the BE Zombie Slayers are.

I bought my 380 about a year ago and some junk bolts came with it, replaced with Diablos and shot accuracy improved, have got some Zombies since and they shoot about the same

Correction

My first crossbow bought this spring a Micro 355 came with Easton arrows. The arrows had had what I consider to be messy gobs of glue on the fletching and the inserts on both ends. I had to remove glue from inside to be able to install the field points. The same with the Easton nocks they had gobs of glue. When I say gobs I’m talking about 1/8 of an inch drips or bubbles. The glue on the fletching was smeared for lack of a better word.
The New BLACK EAGLE arrows were noticeably cleaner with no glue smearing, gobs or drips. Although the conditions were likely better when shooting the BLACK EAGLESS it seems they shoot way more consistently than the Easton arrow out of my bow.

Thanks everyone, plan to shoot the new ones this weekend. I live in eastern NC and have shot recurves and compounds for close to 50 yrs, but I'm intrigued by the the Excalibur's and am looking forward to shooting a deer and/or hog with it.

You will love it. To make your bolts last longer shoot at different spots on your targets. Shooting at the same spot will just ruin bolts.

At the moment, Black Eagle Arrow make the best hunting arrows available. You can't go wrong with them. Their quality control is what sets them apart from the others.

Hello to another North Carolina member, good luck on you're new Excalibur. I made a switch several years ago to Black Eagle arrows and haven't shot anything else. I have shot a lot of the Black Eagle Executioners which shot great but now I shoot the Black Eagle Zombie Slayers. The Zombie Slayers are a stiffer arrow and seem to be stronger.
