My report of sorts on micro Axe 340

Post by hunter with MS »

Got my non dealer version of the Axe 340 Friday afternoon Fed ex delivery . Just like Xmas opened the box looked it all over put it together the single riser bolt is slick . Mounted the scope bore sighted it and went out to finish sighting it in I use practice broad heads to practice with this happen to be a Muzzy 100 grain crossbow trocar and gold tip swifts custom made by Wyvern creations for total wt of 370 grains . All I can say is three words SWEET AND AWESOME very well balanced and extremely accurate had to adjust the scope twice . Shot at 20 dead on went to 25 same 30 same I got to 35 and still the same. I shot it off a bog pod rest this is now my front line Excalibur will be bear hunting with it in a couple of weeks then deer and boar in October

Sounds like a winner! Good luck on the hunts!
Did you go with stock scope, etc?

Antony, no one is putting a gun to your head. You're a big boy, and should have enough self control not to have to go on a hiatus. On the other hand, if you do, when you decide to come back you'll realize that you missed out on the best bang for you buck. Too bad you didn't wait before buying your Assassin 360 TD. Just think with the money spent on it you could have bought two Axes 340 and had money left over..

I find that the label of "premium trigger" holds true. On my Axe, it breaks like glass, and I don't find that my single stage TT trigger is any better. If, going forward, all of Excalibur triggers are like the one in my Axe, the only reason one would need to replace them is if one wants a 2 stage trigger. IMO, for hunting, a single stage is more appropriate and spending the extra cash would be a waste.
