Crossbow Arrows with a 400 Spine

Post by ComfyBear »

I realize that stiffer arrows are better, and that BEEs have a spine of 300. However, considering that most arrows how a spine of 340, 400 and even 500, what are your opinions of using a 16" arrow that has a spine of 400 and weighs over 400 gr. Considering that it's quite short, do you think it would be stiff enough to use with a crossbow shooting under 350 fps ?

Lou, depending on the level of accuracy you're looking for, you might want to locate the spine before fletching.

Don I’m fletching the last zombies you sent me getting ready for moose hunting and it looks like you already marked the spine with a small white mark .

Never know this could be the first and last trip for it

Excuse my ignorance but why do we locate the spine and mark it? Is this the point of the side wall of the arrow that has the less bend or something like that? And when we know this location what do we do with it as far as orientation as compared to what the fletching? Shooting rail? Again I have no knowledge of these things. :?:

The spine is the stiff side of the arrow. The spine can be between the hen vanes or on the cock vane.

You put the cock vane on or opposite the spine so that the arrow flexes more constantly from one arrow to the next.
