I remember getting the hospital bill when I had my shoulder surgery done and it was on an out patient basis and did not include the Surgeons fees etc. It was a tad under $120,000. I was there for less than 5 hours. :crazy:
I would have loved FREE.
:shock: if I may ask, did that come out of pocket??
Only $4000 was out of pocket as I have good insurance.

That is quite the reduction . 120,000 down to 4,000 . :shock:
I think with this topic it all depends on what you get used to .

I only have one experience with a hospital down South. We were on an airboat down around Lake Wales Florida and my step brother had a seizure out on the water. operator was fantastic, got us back a waiting ambulance very quickly. Taken to A nearby hospital.
He was given a CT scan and an MRI and 2 nights accommodation. And then a bill for $80K :shock:
Luckily we had travel insurance so it was covered entirely.
Funny part was, twice a day a little snack cart came around and he could have whatever he wanted. They would leave him a 6 pack of mountain Dew and Doritos two times daily. That part I still don't understand.

Short story long they gave him a CD copy of his MRI results to bring home. As soon as he landed his family DR was waiting. Took him in, tried to view the MRI results but the computer couldn't open the files. So that same day he had a second CT and MRI scan in Canada. No wait, and no invoice. Go figure. I can see the ups and downs of both sides. He was treated very well if FL
