That is better than the alternative. You might be hunting in December! Definitely spring turkey!
This is a good problem to have. Can you imagine if you lived in small village in Afghanistan?

That's great news. I'd give up a hunting season to stand let alone walk pain free. Happy to hear you have such a short wait. Definately a good problem, but you don't need to go nearly as far as Afghanistan to appreciate it

My friend had a knee and hip replaced in the last year, both within 6 months.

You would never know it when you see the guy in the gym.

Hope your results are the same.

Our system has its flaws but it still one of the best there is.....just wish they would stop cutting the heck out of it.
Can't wait to be pain free.

I'm happy with the Canadian health care. By no means perfect but it's what it is! 2015 our daughter while pregnant almost lost our first born Granddaughter. Well that was a really high risk pregnancy. She likely had 12 or more ultrasounds was under the care of 3 specialists didn't cost a thing other than super high income tax . Three weeks later my wife had her appendix bust, emergency surgery and she was 5 days in the hospital. Didn't cost a penny other than the taxes. December 2017 my parents as of today 87 and 83 wrecked their car Dad's been in the hospital 13 times since congestive heart failure and Kidney. They are holding their own now. Didn't cost them a penny.
Our health care is by no means perfect but I'm glad to be a Canadian.

....Do you pay an additional income tax when you utilize the Heath Care System or is it that that your tax rate is high to begin with?

I know two years ago when Mom had her hip done . Surgery on the Wednesday , Thursday transfer to a chair beside the bed , Friday up and walking with a walker and home that night . I think the following weekend I took her for a small grocery shopping excursion . :)
You are not going to be running a marathon right away but as Norm said the recovery is pretty fast .

Our system is under appreciated if you've never used it.
Anyone who been through any life altering experience or sickness come to appreciate the system pretty fast.

It's easy to complain when you wait 6 hours with a broken wrist. But you'll get endless cancer treatment or within minutes service when having a heart attack.

I respect and appreciate our health care system. A 32 day wait for a FREE $40,000 operation is a pretty good deal really

....I guess all my perceptions with the Canadian Health System was incorrect and jaded...

....So maybe I should consider moving the great country of Canada.....that is when your liberal Prime Minister; True Dough is out of office.

Anthony on another encounter that makes me appreciate our system in general .
This past weekend my brother , his wife and myself went out to do some scouting for the upcoming season . We get by one of the first stand locations and me and my brother get stung by some wasp/hornets . I got 3 stings he gets 5 . He said he is feeling funny so maybe we should go back to the truck . He made it 100 yards and collapses . Sister in law phones 911 from in the bush . We are over a mile back in without any idea what the fire code number at the road is . So I ran all the way back out . Amazing what adrenaline can do . I phoned when at the road and ambulance was there shortly . The two paramedics and me walked back in with all their equipment . They hit him with epi and then the fire guys from the local station came with a back board . They got another fire department to come with their UTV back into the bush . We got him out and to the hospital .
All of this outstanding care and response costs us nothing but our gratitude . :D

It's ok Anthony. It isn't perfect and things happen that doesn't seem right, but for the most part it's pretty good and theres lots of fake news and alternative facts about our health care. But just like in the US, you just cannot take one sides story as a fact.
