Removing Decals From Bolts

Post by CT.HNTR »

I have read on the forum that you can remove the decals on bolts with acetone. Can this be accomplished with a simple wipe down or do you need to soak them for a period of time?

Thanks

Soak with a paper towel wet with acetone, that will loosen it up pretty good. I’m impatient so I use a Scotch Brite scrubbing pad with acetone, works great.

....I use the paper towel soaked in acetone

....it gets a little sloppy, just make sure the arra doesn’t have any residue when you are done!

When using the paper towel method suggested what's the soak time?

Wear appropriate protective gloves using acetone and clean shafts outside.

I use a heavy duty paper towel soaked with acetone and rub decal off .
Next , to finish final removal I use clean paper towel and acetone .

Inspect , touch up and done..

No soak time at all. I just removed some decals on BE Zombies. A little acetone on a cloth and rub it back and forth and the decal will begin to melt away within seconds. You will ruin the cloth so use something disposable. Start to finish you can get the decal off in a minute. The wetter the cloth, the quicker (and messier) the removal.
