TRIGGER HOUSING QUESTION

Post by confederate »

Removed my scope and ADF. I found a screw on the right side of the trigger housing that was loose. Does anyone know which screw I am talking about and what it does ? Also if it is loose would it cause a change in the POI. Thanks guys.

what model? could be just one of the housing flat head allen screws. cant say ive ever seen one come loose because it lives inside the rail. dont think it would hurt to snug it up but id call Excalibur to confirm.

It is a matrix 330. When you remove the ADF it can be seen on the right side of the trigger housing. I tightened it up. Been having some POI changes and its the only thing I could find loose.

Have you removed the stock and checked the two screws that actually secure the trigger housing to the main frame ?

You mean the screw that hold the trigger housing itself together? Under the ADF?

All screws can effect POI

I have removed the stock and the screws that hold the riser to the trigger housing were tight.

Cant tell if the screw under ADF on side of trigger housing is what held it together or not. It was the only one on the housing. It was really loose. I tightened it. Would it cause the Poi to change randomly by 2 inches at 20 yards ?

I sent my trigger off of my 315 in for polish job. when I took it off, had to remove trigger lever as the second screw from rear on RS was backed way out, preventing me from pulling out thru top. If I remember correctly it was that screw. sent it in like that with a note as to how I found it.

There are 3 screws and 3 good sized pins holding the trigger housing halves so assuming the other 2 screws were tight, I'd say no.

I did not remove the trigger housing. I was looking at it from just what I could see when I removed the ADF. I only saw the one screw.
