BD 330 vs micros??

Post by Owl Creek »

After getting the 330 i may sell my offspring and get a micro.

The offspring feels heavy and awkward compared to the BD 330

What are the benefits to a micro over the bd 330?

Thank's

I don't have nor owned a BD, but they are Matrix Series bows. So here are the difs. as I see them.
1. Narrower limbs.
2. No linkage style trigger.
3. More compact overall.
4. Disadvantage, cocking effort required. (BD gets the nod here)

Let me add this.
I was looking at the 335 and the suppressor.

Maybe a 355.

Thanks

Well, slippery slope here. The BD330 is the best all around bow in excal's lineup. It's near perfectly balanced. All my opinion of course. But I'm sure you'll agree.
The micros on the other hand are so small and easy to carry.
Here's where it could fall apart for you. The only micro that balances as close to the BD330 is the suppressor. (For the purpose of not spending all your money I'm leaving the assassin out of this for now).
Is suggest you shoulder a micro, worst case scenario you own lots of micros.

I have a BD400 and have shot Micros a fair amount. The BD330 is very gentle, quiet, and should be superbly accurate.
The Micro, as discussed on the rather interesting thread, is probably a little shorter range xbow. The BD330 should be easy for most to rope cock, but not the Micro. Using the Charger/C-2 should give slightly more accuracy to any xbow.
Size/wise - Micro, ease of cocking. Likely, slightly better accuracy - BD330. Possibly, the BD330 is Excalibur’s most accurate current crossbow.
I’ve never found the trigger linkage to be a problem.
I don’t think there’s a better, just a difference.

LOL BD330 or 360 is a much better platform. Accuracy, yup its abit wider n longer. Usually does not have any limb issues chasin its tale every time you shoot. have had 3 Micro's all had limb issues n i no longer own one of them. Of course yer mileage may vary from mine. You don't have to bust your gut to rope cock a BD mid-low pounder :eusa-popcorn:

I believe the riser changes in all the models as well as the new limb design will greatly reduce limb fracture frequency.

So did you just put a micro riser on a bd frame? As in bolt on
Or was it a detailed endever.

I did a ton of reading on here. That took close to a year before i decided on my BD330. I knew it was a great bow for all the reasons you guys just stated.

Looks like i need to do more research on this one.

Or just run a stable full of BD 330's in diffrent camo and black...lol

PS.
My bolts come in. They Look real nice too.
BEE's from jerry, made to order.
I weighed them last night

Really just shorten the rail, and find MOBU Micro limbs. I have since located a MOBU cheek piece too !!

Mossy Oak Break Up.

I don't remember how much I cut off, but it's now 16.5" end to end. I still have the piece somewhere felt I should keep it since it had a barcode and all

hunting a few seasons with a gen 1 Micro . when i pull out the Matrix 405 it feels like a long limb model of yester year 8) i even chopped an inch off each stock on both and wanting an even smaller Micro.cocking a Micro is no fun but for hunting its not like your doing it a bunch. ive had no issues since the first limb replacement few years back but was told there is a new version as well as several riser changes. id say todays Micros are better than ever.
