Serving failure on a new (stock) string
I’ve owned my Assassin 360 for roughly two weeks. I’ve taken probably 50 shots with it, and last night the center of the serving failed. It is pretty much unraveling. Is that normal life span for the serving on an Excalibur string? Thanks.

It's not typical of an Assassin. I would consider the dozen partial dryfires while you were figuring out your Luminocks to have possibly contributed to the advanced serving separation. As mentioned, there will almost always be a detriment to a dryfire especially on a micro platform. Some are immediate, some come out later .Buckjunkey wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 6:20 amI’ve owned my Assassin 360 for roughly two weeks. With that said, post up some pics, you may very well have a problem with your latches contributing to the advance failure

As janesy said the string n servin took a bad beatin in yer early shootin sessions. String would have had lots of shock n stretch more so because of the semi dry fire conditions. Now if'en the servin is worn in two or cut abraided badly then look fer rough claws n polish or have trigger assembly sent in

Re: Serving failure on a new (stock) string
UPDATE: I emailed Excalibur this morning and they already have a new string on the way. Talk about amazing customer service. I'm rapidly becoming a lifetime fan of the brand and everything associated with it. Thanks for the replies.

If you have any arrows with aluminum nocks, they would be suspect if the damage is dead center. Aluminum nocks cannot have sharp edges or can they have any burrs from other arrows hitting them.
Some people just like stepping on rakes
Re: Serving failure on a new (stock) string
Also check any carbon arrow for fine cracks at the nock end.
Discard them or pay a penalty.

Great comments above. I'll add, take some fine grit sandpaper, 1200+, cut a 1/4" strip and polish the daylights out of the stop of the ADF. I've learned this the hard way. If it's not smoothed right out it will definitely cut your serving when it saves you from a complete dry fire. It's just good insurance.
