excal 308

Post by ldock »

Afternoon folks does anyone have a 308 that they have hunted with and actually have shot and harvested an animal with.
I bought mine just before season last year and knee surgeries kept me from hunting. This year I hope to be able to get to hunt with it hoping the Dr. will at least release me to be able to hunt later in regular season as I had a hip replaced. Just getting anxious and fretting about being able to hunt this year any exciting stories or reviews on the 308 will be appreciated.
Thanks Larry

I don't have one but one of my close buddies bought one last year for his wife. She loves the thing and harvested a doe and a buck with it last fall. He took it to Canada this spring for a friend to use on a bear hunt, his buddy killed the biggest bear that was taken in that outfitters camp this spring. I'll try to get ahold of him to see what arrow/BH he is shooting.

No, exact opposite, lots of 308's out there. Fantastic little bows. But they have only been out for one season, reports will be slower to come in just because of the timing.

I hope to have my BD310 with me a fair bit this year.

Larry,

Haven’t harvested any thing yet with the 308, but I thought I would use the Vixen for hunting the first month of the crossbow season, “Not”! I only used the Vixen for one hunt and 308 is the go to crossbow... I like the size, weight, and its accurate too! I am sure there will be Harvest and Hunting stories and pictures coming soon!

Is the Excal 308 about the same as a Grizzly or is it a micro?

It's a Micro, it uses the 16.5" Quills. The Grizzly and GRZ2 are based on the Matrix platform.

308 Short is 30.375" long, 21" cocked and 25" wide de-cocked.
GRZ2 is 33.25" long, 26.5" cocked and 30.5" wide de-cocked.

Did Excal release a black 308, or did you customize that one? Sweet looking bow!

Brandon,

Fabric and vinyl paint seems to be holding up pretty good.

I like the Little 308!
