My new DIY Shooting stick

Post by dithian »

I've been a bit gimpy lately as I'm recovering from a bad ankle sprain, which has meant clawing at the walls. I was on crutches for a few days, and one day I was looking askance at the infernal devices and it hit me: the perfect shooting stick! I've had a habit of buying up old aluminum canes, crutches and walkers at the local thrift store because I find the aluminum tubing to be useful on various projects, and I came up with the below design scabbing parts from a crutch and two different canes. Some adjustment was made to the holes on the crutch to make it a 90º turret. Sprayed on some sexy flat black paint and the thing works great! Image

You're using the URL of the site hosting the image. You need to do exactly what you did, but use the URL of the image itself. Usually ends in .JPG or whatever format it's hosted in

Already used it to great success! One adjustment I'll be making is turning it from a quadrupod to a tripod for better stability. I need to cut two welds, do some bending, make a small weld, et voila!

It can adjust from table height to almost standing height (with a little stooping).

This may be a stupid question but do you have a string on your bow ?

Ha! Not stupid. I'm waiting for new limbs to arrive from Excalibur. One of the limb tips cracked.
