Cheap or expensive hang stand on eventually them little cables get frayed and "scary " looking. Simply replace with a chain.

Good idea you may want to hit the chain with some spray paint or even some foam pipe insulation for noise reduction and so it will not be bright.

My main stand got the chain treatment the year I noticed rust. Now that's my pre-deployment standard. I also wrap chain around the tree so its loosely hanging by chain and then add a couple ratchet straps for additional stability. I don't trust the squirrels around here enough to bet my life on anything they can chew through.

I like the burlap idea. My chains just end up with a coat of flat paint.

Next time bring your parachute. lmao!

Nice job Joe, i use old bike inner tubes that i slip the chains through, it helps with sound deadening.

Looks good spent many hours in stands like that with a chain and a turnbuckle around the tree. Unfortunately 35 yrs later only one of my butt cheeks will fit on them little seats, ladder stands and blinds for me now.

Good idea, I would trust chains over the cables even from new.
