Does the new axe and TD shows use matrix limbs?

Post by Big45 »

Just a question about compatibility for my BD 380. Does Excalibur’s use the same limbs as the matrix lineup?

The Axe and 360 TD are micro based. The 420 TD is i believe based on the Matrix.

Not entirely the same, the 420Td(and 440) use thicker limbs than the BD380 and BD400.
They are interchangable as long as you have the black ferrules. So depending on your year of 380/400 they may not fit without different parts.

Same for the axe. The new limbs are thicker at the strap and require the black ferrules.

New CRTGen2 limbs on the right. I lost my pic of the 440 limbs somehow unfortunately.

.... that is correct also.... they use the more beefed up limbs.,. Thicker as you move toward the riser.... same is true for the A360.👍

Bare in mind guys that there are oodles of hunters that have never had a problem with the old limbs and the lower poundage bows are much easier on limbs. I had a couple of sets go on my 315 until I figured out that my unpolished anodized riser was chewing away at the limbs.

Absolutely! I'm running what appears to be first gen blem limbs on the Axe and so far no issues. And they have a pretty good chunk out if them too

No, that pic is showing the new limbs, which you have, beside the limbs from years gone by.

I put black blemish limbs(with a chunk missing from them) on it. Just for fun. The original limbs are zip tied together on top of my gun safe in the basement with all the others.

I was just commenting on how resilient these limbs are 99% of the time. Now that I've posted they will probably blow up

I have never heard of Excalibur selling a blem limb with a chuck missing to anyone. Did you knock a chunk off them?

I'll clarify. Chunk was the wrong word to use. It's a void where the fiberglass didn't fill the mould. My point in even mentioning it was the fact that these limbs are so much more than resilient than they get credit for. They get all kinds of attention when they break... But non when they dont.
This is the definition of a blemish, and it functions perfectly fine. No tiller or speed loss what so ever .
