Limb replacement?

Post by Owl Creek »

First off i would like to thank Peter for taking the time to help me.
Once i got ahold of him he took care of it the same day.

Any tips on limb replacement?
Do you tighten them all the way down or do you have to back them off a 1/2 turn like the old virtical bow?

Also when changing to a Flemish sting does it change your POI?
I know i need to check it just trying to gain so info upfront.

Thanks

I have done the limb swap a few times so I’m no expert but I tighten them down tight.
The string will be a bit heavier and typically the loss in speed is about 5 FPS. That said, you should see very little change in POI.

I would like to know the answer to this as well.
Is there a video on the sight showing the procedure? I suppose it would be next to impossible to make a video for so many different models and their revisions.
I would think there should be a specific torque setting for each model/limb etc.

It's pretty straight forward. Tighten them down snug with thread sealer.

Now is the time to invest in a quality set of hex keys.
Do not use the ones left over from your wife's closet set she got from Ikea!

Make sure the main limb bolt is TIGHT! As tight as you can get it by hand with an Allen key is ok but I use a T handle allen and i get them on as tight as I can. The recoil bracket bolts should be snug and then some. Don't forget the locktite. Leaving the limbs anything short of good and tight is asking for a broken limb bolt and a visit to a dentist.
