Axe Chronographed

Post by xcaliber »

Got the Axe setup, shot the broadheads of choice, and I'm ready to go hunting Monday morning after this nasty front settles out of here. Using a heavy Flemish string and 407 total grains on the arrow. Here is the Math I used.
407 -350 / 3 = 19
-5 FPS for the string
total deduction =24
340-24= 316
So I got a 342, very happy folks. Every time I shoot this Axe I love it more & more.
Let's go hunting! :eusa-dance:

I have a micro 355 so I’m trying to justify to myself why I need an Axe. The camo pattern on your bow and a good speed with a 400ish grain arrow is getting me nervous. :problem:

After handling the Micro 355, and the Matrix bows I have I really like the Micro size for hunting. The price of the Axe makes it a steal really and I have a hunch it would become your favorite for hunting as well. The good thing is that is not the same bow as the Micro in a few ways, and so I don't see it as another Micro in the stable.
That, and the fact that I'm an Excalibur Junkie!

Good numbers Dan. I'm getting 329fps with a 396 grain arrow and a Boo Flemish.
I thought the AXE was hitting hard until we hit the Reinhard with a 450grainer from the 420TD and it rocked the target back 4"
I took my little toy home and cuddled it.

Thanks Joe, hoping to just get in the woods a few times this year! I’ll take a small buck if I get a good clean shot. I’m not allowed to go out in the cold weather anymore so I’m probably not hunting the rut unless it’s mild temps.

Received my Axe on sept 24th and it was shooting a 350 grain arrow at only 327 fps . I sent it back to Excalibur on the 25th. I am still waiting on it. Im sure they are super busy this time of year. Just hope they can fix the problem and get it back to me before much longer.
