.... thanks... I was able to get it pretty much sighted in dead nuts at 30 yards by moving the scope forward as far as it could be moved until stopped by the rings... I’m going to try changing out to the Hawke XB30...my problem is time and range access!

Anthony
And what did that do for your eye relief?
..,.actually I found it better!

Aim at the dots at the bottom of the target till you are close to dead on.
......and what do you think I was doing? :eusa-think: .....I ran out of adjustment on the scope!

Anthony :D
That happened to me when I had my Barnett Whitetail Pro STR. I was using the Cross 4x32mm scope with no speed adjustments. I too bottomed out. I ended up switching scopes to the 1.5-5x32mm Cross scope w/speed rings and that fixed the issue with my Barnett. Since the New Cross scope and the Tact-100 speed scope that my BD440 came with and the scope is pretty much dead on even after changing strings and the limbs. I think it’s possible there’s something wrong with your scope that you’re using. I didn’t like the Tact-100 either because the reticle were really small and hard to see. I tried to contact Excalibur about it and they want me to either 1) send the scope in for inspection/repair or 2) give them permission to charge me for the scope @ $259.99 and then they would send me one first and then once they received mine they would refund my money. I didn’t really like either two options so I’m just using the Cross 1.5-5x32mm scope and “fingers crossed” I haven’t hand any problems with it since.

Good luck! I hope you find a solution to your problem. Thanks in advance!

.....I did change the scope and the same thing happened...the only thing that worked was moving the scope slightly forward...

.....both were two different Crossbones scopes....I just received the Hawke XB-30 and will change the Crossbones for the Hawke...stay tuned!

You might need taller rings. Which ones did you use?

If I was shooting at the bottom dots and missing over the top of my target I would know IMMEDIATELY that I had a bad problem. I would not try a 2nd shot till I figured out what was wrong. I don't know of many scopes that will give 16 to 18" of adjustments. :eusa-deadhorse:

....I am planning on heading out on Friday for round 3 of sighting in the A420TD :wtf: ....unfortunately with the distance I have to travel it is a pain in the arse to get the time to go  . I am persistent however. I will get this bad boy sighted in.

...also I am shut down on Saturday due to wedding that I must attend...I hate going to weddings  why can't people get married between April 16th and August 31? I just don't get it....so inconsiderate! :eusa-snooty: :eusa-doh:

Swap rings Anthony, I had the same issue with another scope, the ring height is critical.

Every bow is a little different. You went from a Micro to Matrix stock style and they are different so if you used the Micro’s scope rings on a Matrix limbset. That may have been your problem right there. I never thought that it would make a difference but apparently it does. Like I said, “I had a Barnett and the scope bottomed out like yours did.” I tried everything I could think of and I couldn’t get the problem fixed until I changed the scope rings and bought a new scope. Out of process of elimination it had to be either the 4x32mm scope of the rings. When I bought the 1.5-5x32mm scope I used the scope rings that it came with and it solved the problem. I didn’t bottom out anymore but because I had a new scope I decided to sell the other scope-“defective one” to someone on eBay. I included the rings that the new scope came with and the guy I sold them to didn’t complain about it bottoming out because he was using it on another Barnett Recruit Terrain which is the 1st bow I ever had.
