Where to get the original hardware for the Bulldog 440

Post by 2019 Bulldog 440 »

Hello,

I’m new to Excalibur’s and I have a Bulldog 440. I recently bought air breaks and installed them and misplaced the original washer and screws. I am looking to sell the bow and I’m looking to sell the bow without the airbrakes. I tried contacting Excalibur but since it’s archery hunting season for most states they are extremely busy. Sometimes I get a response back from Peter B. Within a few hours but i have not received anything back from him. Does anyone know where I can find the original kit that holds down the limbs? I believe there is a main washer, and then 2 plastic brackets and 2 screws to hold the brackets down. I can not find them anywhere and I’m trying to take the bow apart and put it back to its original form. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

2019 Bulldog 440:

First of all welcome to the forum.

If you stick around a spell you will gain a whole lot of CB knowledge.

Second of all...why not go back and complete your registration indicating where you hail from....this way members can direct you to somewhere where you might get all of your information or supplies.

You can always call Excalibur direct (understand that they're very busy this time of year),,,,I would ask to talk to Dawn...she might be able to help you....

....who knows someone from the forum may respond to you indicating that they have what you are missing and be willing to ship it to you at no cost....that is just the way that the people on this forum operate.

I tried calling Excalibur customer service and unless it’s a warranty issue with your bow they aren’t going to be getting back to you right away. I did leave a message and Peter called and left me a voice mail because I apparently missed his phone call.

I just want to get this bow ready for resale. I have two sets of Bulldog 440 limbs. Will the 440 limbs work with the BD400? Will it gives the extra 40FPS just by having these new limbs since their for a BD440? Just wondering.

You will not get more speed from a bd400 by putting bd440 limbs on it. The speed comes from the power stroke (rail length).

Thank you! I don’t know who this Danny Miller guy but I’ll give him a call. I’m not trying to get rid of it right away, I just wanted to make sure I can put the bow back to OEM so it’ll be easy for me to sell it.

Yup, call Danny, he will set you up. I did the exact same thing two months ago. My BD400 had air brakes on it standard and I wanted to try it without them. I think it was about $8 (give it take a dollar or two) for the pieces. Oh, and I think I chatted with him for about 30-40 minutes yacking about triggers.

For what it is worth, my BD400 likes the air brakes. For some reason it actually a few fps faster with them. Goes against what everybody says.
