Dr Stirrup speed test

Post by BCSteve »

Got my Dr Stirrup goodies yesterday so I decided to installed them one at a time and see how they affected speed. I have a Micro 355 with the factory string and was shooting 400 grain arrows for the test. The speed was measured with a chronograph at about 2 yards.

First test, factory bow with no add ons: - 338fps
- 341fps
- 339fps
Average: 339fps

With DB Killer vibration and noise killer: - 337fps
- 343fps
- 339fps
Average: 340fps

As above plus DB Killer bumpers. : - 341fps
- 340fps
- 342fps
Average: 341 fps

So the claim that they won’t reduce the speed is true. To be honest, I didn’t really notice a difference in vibration or noise but I was also shooting in my garage at a target 3 yards away. The noise of the bow and the arrow hitting the bag was pretty much simultaneous. I’ll try her out again outdoors after distance when it’s nice again.

I have found their products to perform as stated. I was not a big fan of the stirrup, but that’s just me.

I like the stirrup. I like the fact that the bow can stand on its nose without falling down.

And of course I love the bumpers and limb silencers too

And I echo Anthony's comment about Vixenmaster's strings.

Same here, although it seems practical and well thought out, it looks too bulky to me. I didn’t order it. I have some strings on order from Boo, I’ll add them to the test when I get them to see the impact on speed.

I also like how you can easily cock your bow when sitting in a stand.

I also like how that with it I can just barely cock my BD400 by hand, if I really had to. I couldn't do it at all with the stock stirrup.

I received my Boo string and installed it as per his instructions. I re-shot my test over the chrono and with everything being equal as my last test, I lost 5-8 fps with Boos string compared to the factory Excalibur endless loop string. I checked with Boo and he confirmed that it is to be expected with the heavier string.

I would welcome the speed loss with a Flemish String on my bow any day.

Me too, benifits definitely outway the loss of 5 feet.
