Broad head choice for axe 340

Post by Lewism »

I have 2 questions. One which one is a better choice . The regular montec stainless fixed or montec Cs high carbon.

Next is I have the pro flight arrows and want to know what weight. Would be ideal for the arrow?

100 grain or the 150 grain ?

I went with the SWAT A4 Mini and screwed in two set screws jammed together and 100 grain heads to keep my weight up over 400 total grains. You should probably go with 150 grain heads because you have an aluminum front insert that weighs about 40 grain, mine are 110 grain brass inserts. JMHO

I think Slick Trick makes some real good 150 grain heads, and the Bolt Cutters also have taken a lot of game with 150 grain heads.

Good luck!

125 heads work as well, along with a luminock you would land in the 380's it so.

That opens your options, I don’t personally use the stock arrows. 380 grains sounds good, I like a bit heavier because of the mechanical heads.

So I take it 400 grams is where it’s at for bolt weight

No the arrow is 300 grain alone add the 100 grain for the broadhead total arrow wt is 400 grain . My Kinetic energy is 102 .70 more then enough with this set up . You can go as heavy as you want
