You have my deepest sympathy for the terrible position you have gotten yourself into. For the rest of this season you will have to live on the wonderful memories you have created while you hunt does and turkeys. Congratulations on an outstanding season!

I have the same problem. 1st day of our “gun” season. 7AM. Tagged out.

Congrats on your buck. Yep, that one probably would have taken my last tag as well. He's a nice one.

Whatcha' shootin'? That looks like a smooth-bore bolt-action shotgun with barrel a yard long, but the scope on it is throwing me off.

I agree Steve, that's a great buck. I too have questions on the weapon!

That is a very unique weapon. It is a fully bedded OBO stock, Sav10ML2 action with a proprietary breech plug that fully contains the 209 (CCIm) primer. It has the second PacNor 458 barrel used on a smokeless MLer (2001 or 2002). It has a Zeiss 2x8 Duralyt lighted shooting a 200SST powered by a duplex of VV110 and H4198 shooting 2730’/sec. This rifle has a unique history in the development of Smokeless MLing starting with Rick Bibby (RB). I have a much higher performing 40 cal MLer but use this rifle frequently due to its history and past successes. It shoots sub-MOA out to 300 yards.
A few of the over 20 previous deer.

The two deer above were killed within 1 minute of each other, by my son. A one minute tag out.

Me on a Sunday morning before going to church. Same rifle

DuckHunt,
You’ve had a dream year! Are you going duck hunting? Do you varmint hunt? Such a position we get into. If we’re successful, we can’t keep doing what we love to do. And to think that some only get 1 tag per year! Your 3 bucks is an exception, I think.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

Yes, it has been an unbelievable season. I keep waiting for someone to pinch me.

Yep, I'll be about 16 miles NNE of Stuttgart, AR on the Cache River National Wildlife Refuge at 4am just about every day of the first duck season. This time next week I'll be surrounded by those wearing Mossy Oak Bottomland and loving every minute of it. It looks like this season may be better than the last couple. We've got water and colder weather up north has helped push down the ducks.

I really like that smokeless ML of yours. I always wished I had picked one up when Savage still made them. Maybe someone will bring another to market eventually.
