Nose Jammer Experiment

Post by ko4nrbs »

I liberally sprayed a log lying on the ground alongside the small corn pile. Always got a few pics without the Nose Jammer over a span of a week or so. Never got this many pics in just a few days. I'd say the Nose Jammer is drawing them in more consistently than just the corn because of the new bucks I have pics of now.

might have to give this a try next year, but another reason more deer on camera could possibly be that other food sources have run out :?:

Over the weekend I had 300 pics sent to me from one camera which had gone quite for a long time.

Nose jammer is a cool product. I would use it, but far too many bears in my area.

This is at the end of a Cul-De-Sac in a larger subdivision. Lot's of food around the houses and some of the people also feed them. I'll keep using it and see what happens.

Smells like vanilla but also different. It’s stronger smelling and last longer than any vanilla mixture I have used in the past. I can honestly say it has attracted deer better than any of my vanilla concoctions.

A couple of squirts fills the woods up with scent.

That's good if it's bringing them in, are you going to use it while you are on the stand as well?

I use it while I am in my Ground Blind. I have a climbing stand but no good trees in this spot. Been thinking about buying a Tripod Stand but haven't decided yet.

Saw 12 does in the area yesterday in the area but couldn't get a shot.

I had a one time trial.

Sprayed it on a small baby pine at the base of my tree stand. Filled the woods with very strong vanilla scent.

Only thing that came in was a small spike. Never seen a deer act so crazy. At 30 yards away, he was jerking head up and down, left and right , nose up down etc.. turn left, right almost jumping up and down.

Came down the trail closer, at full alert, trying to figure what the smell was and where it's coming from.

I almost laughed out loud at his actions. He was spazing out! He couldn't figure it out .

Nothing else came close after that, as I walked out my hunting partner said he could smell me coming, guess I got some on my boots too.

Next day cut down little pine , bagged it and tossed it.
I was sure glad it rained for a few days. wash the danged stuff away.

Just my .02 but vanilla is way to strong smelling, especially if a foreign, first time odor. I'll pass in the future!

In my spot the deer love it but being in such close proximity to people smells may make a difference.

Lol, it was probably freaking out because its main sense of defence was malfunctioning. Kinda like when you put post-it notes on a cat's paws.
