I've had both, but didn't shoot either. To me, the BD380 felt smaller. But it really isn't that much shorter.

If you already have a 380, why not look at the BD330?

My bulldog 400 shooting at 410 g total is 370 FPS

Really if you can save hundreds by going the 380 I would. In hind sight I definitely would. They shoot about 10 FPS apart from what speed tests I have seen

I have a BD400 and a Micro 355. Never had a 380 but I will say that the BD400 and Micro don't feel SO different from each other so I would think that the 2 bulldogs would not feel much different at all. I like my BD400 a lot for it's consistent accuracy and ease of shooting well. Not so easy to cock by rope if you are on the short side, I am 5'8" and right on the edge of capability so a crank is definitely recommended with either. I will say that the speed and power difference between my Micro and BD400 don't matter at all for me so I carry the Micro a lot more than the BD400 but mostly because the short arrows fit in my pack better than the longer ones (I shoot 16" and 20"). If there’s a big price difference between the 380 and 400, I would get the cheaper one. Don't count the speed advertised for either and if you can handle and shoot them side by side let that be your best guide. Doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, you are going to be the one using it.

Thanks for the info im looking at the 380 bull 760 $$$ on amazon its a good deal not sure what year model it is does it matter this will probably be the one i get seeing how my back shoulders are falling apart guess falling 20 ft off a roof doesn't help  ,,The 400 will be to much for me getting older using the crank does help specially in the tree ....I think i will set this one up with 20 zombies seeing my other 380 is set up with 18 inch

I have two M380 bows and added a BD400 because I like the Bullpup design.

The BD400 is a mother to cock with a rope, even with the Dr Stirrup stirrup on it and pulling the string up an inch to engage the hooks. I can rope my Matrix 380 bows without a crank from where the string sits. The BD400 wears a crank, I cannot do it without it.

My advice: I would say keep the Matrix 380. The Bullpup design made for a harder rope pull. Yes, I like the Bullpup stock, but I don't hate the Matrix stock. The BD400 is in-between my Matrix 380 bows for speeds, but one of them has a hot set of limbs and the BD400 only shoots 388fps for its "stock" speed.

I will have to find my notes to get you the 400+gr arrow speeds. Not sure if I tested all of them on the Chrono with my 447gr setup (BEE 18", lumenock, 125gr tip).
