I have been shooting a Mossberg 835 using the factory choke and 3.5s for many years now but mine does not seem to care if I shoot 4s, 5s or 6s through it. It is deadly with all of them. But my Excalibur is just as deadly only at shorter ranges.

Great tips folks, nice turkey Robert, I plan to graduate to the crossbow after I get my feet wet.

Right now I’m focused on calling and other tactics and hopefully get a few birds, then I’ll take the Excalibur out for a turkey hunt.

All this talk of turkeys got me thinking that I haven't bought a new turkey choke since 2004. Saw this on a local site NIP and scooped it up. Hoping it pulls double duty for turkeys and yodl' dogs
My old Remchoke ventilator patterned great and has made many pot pies, but its lead only .650 constriction always kept me from shooting anything other than turkey loads through it. And it was $20 back then.
I figure they have learned some things since then.

Thats the nice thing about loading tss you can wrap them in mylar inside the wad and then shoot down any barrel and choke and not worry about damaging them !
