S5 String Stops

Post by bigbowman »

I just got my new S5 string stops and they look and feel really cheaply made now! They are like have of the diameter that they used to be! I’m almost tempted to send them back and try to buy used ones! Anyone else have the new S5s? Are they the same as mine or like the old ones?

Brian, if you can get your money back, get the Danny Miller setup, or the dBkillers from drstirrup. Highly recommend both of them!

Another suggestion. The Dr Stirrup bumpers are indestructible.

Dr. Stirrup doesn’t have a setup like the S5? I didn’t think Danny Miller does either? I need not just the rubber bumpers but the actual metal stops too. These are for my Vixen II.

Danny Miller's come with the posts, the dr.Stirrup bumpers fit the Excalibur posts. Boo is right, the dr.'s are indestructible! Well worth the money, you'll never have to worry about them again Brian.

Danny's will not work. You will need the metal stem. Have you put a WTB in the trading post, CBN or AT?

I’m going to. These new cheap ones aren’t going to last in my opinion!

Well according to Excalibur, the new S5 string stops are supposed to be lighter with the same excellent performance and warranty! I guess I’ll keep the posts and just replace the bumpers. 👍
