Matrix 355

Post by bigbowman » Thu Jan 09, 2020 6:53 pm

Here’s my new Matrix 355! This is definitely the sweet spot bow for me. I can constantly cock this bow by hand (rope cocker)! Plenty fast enough for me too! I’ll run it through my chronograph too. I can’t wait for the weather to cooperate so I can get out and shoot this baby!

I think I will be Dan! I had a BD 380 & Micro 355, both way too hard for me to cock! This Matrix 355 I’ll have no problem cocking during my shooting sessions! 👍

Yep, she's easy on the back for sure. I can rope cock the 380 a few times at the range, and no problem hunting, but the Micro models, forget about it! My Matrix 330 is a sweet, easy cocking bow too.

I have to admit, my Matrix 350 is certainly a pleasure to shoot and is probably my most accurate bow. The mid-range Matrix bow are hard to beat.

Now being overshadowed by the rocket bows the 355 is a dependable as dirt crossbow.
It's my fastest bow and plenty fast for me.
It's got enough umpth to shoot a big super freak extreme or anything the like and still penetrate properly.

I shot my biggest buck ever, my first with a bow, with an Excalibur Exocet 165lb./265fps So any of the current Excaliburs are more than ample to do the job.

I tested cocking this bow now. I was able to comfortably cock this bow 20 times without straining or hurting! I can’t wait for the weather to get better so I can actually shoot it!

I bought mine back when they came out in 2013. I had an Exomax 350, but it got harder and harder for me to cock because I have a bad shoulder. That 12.25" power stroke does the trick. I had the misfortune of dry firing it with one of Danny Miller's flemish strings, and all that happened was the string broke. I got a new sting and a Guardian anti-dryfire :eusa-doh: from Danny and it's still shooting like the day I bought it. This crossbow is one bad ass machine and I love it.

Do I need to unstring my bow to change out each limb strap? Can I just remove and replace them one at a time with the bow still strung? Thanks for your help!

** Note: it is the safest possible option to always unstrung for any maintenance. Should you accidentally cut the string or some other fluke**

Normally Brian, you do not need to unstrung.
However since in your case, I'm assuming you are installing the straps with the ferrule and cap head screw, you should unstring. Reason being, the ferrule on that riser acts as a guide of sorts to allow the limbs to flex forward and return again. You may find that the limb needs to be adjusted to set the ferrule in place.

If you are not adding ferrule, you do not need to unstrung as there is tons of room without them. But see note at the top. It only takes a second to unstring
