20in. arrows in Micro
Looking to get a micro 308 short for use in saddle, I have an ample supply of 20 inch arrows. Can these be shot from the micro as well as the shorter quills? THANKS for the info----Greg
Re: 20in. arrows in Micro
They can very accurately. The only issue will be that they are going to hang out over your stirrup.
It’s not the way you rock, it’s the way that you roll!
Re: 20in. arrows in Micro
I've shot 22" SpynalTapp arrows from my Micro 355 and they were very accurate. Too much stuck out beyond the stirrup for me to hunt with. I will probably cut them to 16" and put a 110 grain insert in if I sell the compound they were made for.
Re: 20in. arrows in Micro
I shoot 20" Zombie Slayers out of my 308 short no problem I like the extra weight and also use a 125gr broadhead. The results are much better than the 16" quills.
Re: 20in. arrows in Micro
If you can get some 16" made up for you using Zombie Slayers, or Executioners, add in 110 grains of brass insert weight, use 125 grain heads, and you'll be in great shape for a long time. Accuracy is great, weight with aluminum rear nocks is 409 total grains.
Wyvern Creations makes custom bolts still I think, and South Shore Archery makes great arrows. I like several guys make our own, and then some for the hunting buddies, their kids, etc.
My point being that if the end hanging over is something that bothers you in the hunting woods, get you some made the right length, and weight, you'll be very happy in the end results!
