420 TD Question

Post by dharris84 »

Guys,

I was taking the limbs off and had the limb side up towards me. A small stainless steel nut fell down to the ground. Any ideas?

Thanks

I believe there is a nut between the riser and rail to adjust tension. But I don't have a 420 here currently to look over

If you were removing the limbs, all you'd have to do is remove the string, then remove the 2 recoil bracket bolts and then the main limb bolts. There is no nut involved.
It might be a good idea to take a picture of what the bow looks like now, especially where the nut came from

Boo,

I was removing the limb bolt and bracket bolts. I didn't touch anything else and don't know where it fell from. I don't know if it came from the internal portion of the bow. My 405 was easy to split open, I don't want to try doing so with this one. It looks more complicated.

Thanks

I can't imagine what could have come loose from just removing the limb and recoil bracket posts. On Monday, call Excalibur. I think Peter Balfour is the best to talk to and tell him what wrench size the nut is.

Problem solved, it actually came from my Allen wrench. Backed off the end.
Thanks Janesy and Boo!

Your Allen wrench has a nut on it? That's different!

My Allen wrench set has a bolt on each end that holds the different sizes in place once the nut goes on the opposite end of the bolt.
