Although I think the way the Chinese treat animals is gut wrenching and disgusting, the wet markets do not exist solely in China. Hong Kong, Mexico, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand to name a few. Leave it to the human race, people will do insane things to make a buck even if it creates misery for others.

The Nostradamus prophecies are so vague that they can be interpreted in a hundred different ways. They are couched in vauge generalities that make it almost impossible to pin down anything concrete. China isn't the only country that eats anything that swims, crawls, flies, or just lays there. With their bursting populations, its not going to get any better either.
