Pandemic Therapy

Post by Species8472 »

I am very lucky to have about a half mile frontage on a small river that I can usually count on for some perch and trout in season (2 weeks to go). Alas the fish were uncooperative today - it happens. Either way a day outside is always better than a day inside.

Oh rub it in! Just read on the NB Natural Resource page our river/brook fishing has been postponed until May1. The lakes have opened May 1 for many years now.....................BUT the DNR say they will assess the opening of the season on April 30  I've got a bad feeling about the start date. Absolutely NO MENTION of the Turkey season.

They do. Especially late season in years where we get a lot of early lake effect snow. About once every 10 years or so they are actually yarded down there on the river bottom before the end of the bow season.

Yes indeed, that’s the typical deer yard in NB as well. I use to love a spot like that. Especially where the cedars transition to a more open cover like an older stand of spruce, fir and hardwood. When I hunted deer as a youngster I always still hunted those areas. Great memories.
