Social Distancing Rehab

Post by Bcxbow »

Well I definitely wasn't bored today as i had an hour long conversation back and forth with this tom before i finally coaxed him in. After a long war of wills of my yelps and clucks and him gobbling back while pacing back and forth on a ridge some 100yds away (couldn't see him thru the thick foliage but I know my property well), he finally started slowly closing the distance and then he hung up at what I believed to be about 50yds or so and then he got quiet so I did the same. After about 15 minutes he blasted out his loudest gobble yet so i gave him a few very seductive "come hither" purrs and set down my call.

Twenty minutes of silence and then it was shorts changing time because he had slipped in behind my double bull blind and belched out a gobble from a mere 10yds. I collected myself and just sat motionless as he strolled past the blind within just a few feet and headed toward my hen decoy which was positiond 15yds in front of my blind. To my amazement he strolled right past the decoy without even turning his head toward it and stopped at 27yds where he turned broadside and came out of strut. The arrow flew true and recovery was short. The broadhead was a modified truglo titanium x mechanical 4 blade with 1-3/4" blades on front and back. It performed flawlessly and left a short and massive blood trail.

 I've experienced the shorts changing time on several occasions when they snuck in behind me, usually a different bird than the one I'm working. Good story and congrats!

Nice way to go.
I like the way the head is still on
Them wide cut heads work like a charm just have to put them in the boiler room.

Great story! That's a good idea modifying that head. That would make for a durable huge cutting four blade head. I bet it makes a heck of a hole. Congrats!
