Scope rail bolts?

Post by bobcattrapper »

So on a new axe crossbow should I take out the scope rail bolts and put a drop of blue loctite and reinstall or just check em? If so what size hex key? I always loctite the rings and never did the rail on my matrix 330 rail screws and they seem ok.

Can't hurt. Mine on my Matrix bows are 3/32". Be careful as they are very easy to strip.

The only way I have found to remove them without stripping them is to cut a slot in them with a dermal and use a flat screw driver then again you could mess them up anyway . They are made of very soft metal . I also found that most of the screws and bolts have loctite on the already at least mine did ,

If you can use a ball ended Allen Wrench you’re chances are much better at getting them out. Worth every penny for a good set!

If they are that tight should they be ok then? I really don’t want to take em out if they are tight. I seen a utube where the fella had his loosen up. So probably just check em like the other bolts?

My brothers Bulldogs mount was tite as the devil from the factory just keep an eye on them .
I think its more important to loctite the trigger anyway

They have locktite on them from the factory now. Works very well. Shoot for a while and check them, but you'll likely never have to worry about them now. Same goes with all the limb hardware, and trigger bolts now too.

Good to know they put the loctite on now at the factory.I will just leave it alone and mount the scope .

Mine came tight and never loosed up. They use loctite on them now at factory when they assemble the bows. Good luck!
