Broadhead selection

Post by [email protected] »

I was just wondering what broadheads people use for their crossbows, just to get an idea of what would work for me. Thanks a lot, Rylie.

Out of my micro 335 I use grim reaper razor tip mechanical.

With my scorpyd my go to is the swat x mag mechanical.

Both are dependable and they will drain your game and watch them drop in sight with a well placed shot!!

I like expandable type mainly for the accuracy and safety of no exposed blade.
I have used the following with success to date l have shot about 60 deer since going to the crossbow only
Loosing one buck due to a shoulder shot that was my bad.
All of these have worked for me hope it helps
Cabellas lazer strike 2 (economy broadhead that work
s perfectly)
Spitfires (before china made)
Shwacker hybrids
Nap shockwave
Super freak extreme
Xact cut (kinda my favorite)
The best broadhead for you is the one that flys good and is the one that you have the most CONFIDENCE in weather it be fixed or mechanical.ln the end that is what matters .. Good luck ..joe z
Ps the boltcutter and slick tricks all worked well also when l shot fixed blade and the ramcats are all good
Choices

Thanks for the insight. Does anyone have any opinion on the rage hypodermic mechanical broadheads? Seen them for a good price at cabelas and might have to scoop them up. They are just the regular ones.

All my broadheads have been 100 gr.

Not a lot of experimenting
.
Started with wacems. No complains, very accurate and complete pass thru shots.

Last year. I switched to viper slick tricks. Here again, very accurate and complete pass thru.

Got a great deal on some swat broadheads. HYBRID.
A little fixed briadhead that can also be shot as a mechanical. I'm hoping they live up to all the hype.
Surprised they didn't include a small screwdriver of some kind , to switch blades from fixed to mechanical. Like we all carry a 1!16 th or smaller screwdriver.!!

I forgot I switched my vipers out, on my archery trip for javelina this spring. Oops

Oh well, I still have several wacems as backup.

If I had to go out and buy something new, Not sure what I'd buy,, as there are so many options.. I passed on those swats , that just sold. Love the idea of 8 cutting edges.

I used the boltcutters with good results and tried rage trypan 150 gr. Last year keeping with the heavier foc entry and exit wounds were huge I could have followed blood trail with my eyes closed. 1 blade did break from hitting bone.

Use American Broadhead Sonic Bolts (150 grain) and Liberty (125 grain) for most all archery. They are the only true cut-on-contact replaceable blade fixed broadhead that I know of. Fly like a field point in every bow we have. Never a problem with them.

HAHA!! Best Marketing Dept. though.

I'm having fun getting my 53 lb Black Hawk recurve ready. Been practicing sharpening large 2 blade single bevels. Gonna try some Zwickey No Mercy heads with that bow. My FOC is like 24% on that arrow at about 515gr. Should blow through any deer I see
