Nap spitfire do they need to be banded ?
Got shooting my second axe and decided to try shooting 125 grain all I had was spitfire that I got years ago even had the practice head . Shot very well out to 30 yard with 3 or 4 scope adjustments . My question is I don't remember if they need to be banded or not ?

Can't hurt to use a dental band and won't hinder performance.

As said you can band won't hurt anything. I have shot them up to 370 fps n never had one open on me
Re: Nap spitfire do they need to be banded ?
.....the Spits that I have used since I came over to the dark side have been banded although I have never had them open prematurely...

I never banded em up to a 355 no problems but it cant hurt.. but the old ones l shot were not made in "CHINA " ....gread broadhead killed a lot of deer with them. honestly now that the trailblazer is out l think they are second quality in comparison. Just my opinion.
I know you had a problem with the bent blades .
I don't really practice much with the spitfire or the xact much l really never saw more than an inch different impact max .
The blades on a spitfire /ramcat /trailblazer will all bend
in a block target after a few shots but every one of them will tear up a deer.
Today l found the swat a-4 to fly exactly like my field points but it still has thin blades .
I'm done shooting it for practice no need to shoot them into a block to verify more times . I'm confident in the accuracy and now back to field points.
I'm not into tuning too many choices of field point accurate heads to choose from .

I have used one dental band on mine ever since I started using spitfires.
