30 more days

Post by Carnivorous »

Archery deer season opening day is only 30 days away!

I'm hoping for more treestand time and something with a decent amount of meat. Horns are OK too but I won't pass up a big doe either...

I have been out of venison since June and am craving back straps!!! Lol

September 12th and fingers crossed it’s not a 90°day like last year. Good luck to everyone and most importantly be safe.

Predicted of cloudy and 48 for opening morning so far. But that's still a week and a half away. I can only hope! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Two weeks from today for us. Current forecast is for low of 58 high of 80. If it doesn't get cooler I'll hunt the morning and go fishing that afternoon. It's a long season (until Jan. 15) and we seem to have plenty of deer. I don't need to over do it early.

Scoped out a new property to hunt last weekend. Our hunt group spent the day putting up treestands, ground blinds and camera. Lots of deer sign all over the property and it has never been hunted.
Between surgeries and being too busy, I haven't shot anything in 5 years. My freezer needs venison!!

October 3rd is opening morning here in Texas for bow season. My luck it'll only be 95 that day!!! No wind, but a heavy dose of "skeeters" all day long!!! :eusa-doh:

Four days away for me! Though I'll be wearing orange (gun season) and only hunting doe, I'll be out there with a Micro trying to stick one early in the season.
