I’ve hunted this buck for two years and finally got to see him “in person” on Oklahoma opening evening (Thursday 10/1). He showed up just before dark and presented a quartering away shot at 29 yards. After the shot, I had to stay in the stand for nearly an hour to let the rest of the deer leave the field. I found the bolt with blood tip to tip and then headed to my truck to get a better light to start the blood trail, but I found my buck on a mowed road about 60 yards from where he had been.
I’ve got A BUNCH of game cam pictures, but this buck is much bigger than he looked on camera.
This is my first deer with my Offspring. He weighed 280 lbs (live weight) and my best attempt at “scoring” resulted in 192” of bone on his head.
Needless to say, this is my biggest buck ever and could very easily be the buck of my lifetime.
