380 Limb Splinter

Post by Scarecrow »

Inspecting my 380 this morning and found a small splinter on the edge of one of the limbs. It doesn’t look like it should effect the limb but just wanted to see what other people think.

I have two weeks before I head into the woods for 7 days of hunting.

A small sliver can be addressed easily with a drop of good glue and lightly sand smooth after drying.

Your limbs have about 250,000 individual strands of fiberglass working together. A small sliver repair isn't going to change anything.

send a photo to start the warranty even if you can patch them . The worse that will happen is you get a new pair use as back up if you want .

Careful That Nasty splinter can do major damage to you hands if not handled carefully

ALSO so as not to miss your hunt this what I have used in the past which was quick and did fantastic job to boot.
Not sure were to buy in USA but would think it can be found
Did not need to sand activited with the splinter pressed in place .
If left with any crevices just ad a slight bit more and smooth out with finger tip then harder as in instructions.
Quick 10 second and your done.
Mine as held up for over 2 years now  :eusa-dance:

Same thing happen to mine except the next morning I had another splinter on the opposite side of the same limb. I contacted Dawn at Excalibur warranty, submitted pictures, and Dawn said to create an RMA.

I created the RMA, with pictures, and Excalibur is sending me new limbs. However, they said mail the old limbs to Port Huron and after I mailed them, the next day they posted on the RMA to not send them back.

Either way I am getting new limbs so I don't have to worry about the splintering continuing while I am on the hunt.

Got to be able to sleep at night.

So take pictures, start an RMA, and upload the pictures. They should do the same replacement for your limbs as well.

I hade one on a old Equinox , I sniped it light sanding and then hunted ,practiced ,shot it all the time for the next 10 years , then sold it to fund my Matrix, I would not address it until after hunting season is over in my opinion If at all.

I agree, start and RMA if you haven't already since your season is so close, but in the mean time, clip off sand and keep shooting
