Grandson got a doe yesterday

Post by Hester0305 »

I've been trying to help my 11 yoa grandson Cayden close the distance on a deer the last couple of times we hunted together and this afternoon it came together and he took a small doe right before dark with my wife's Katana 360 and Truglo Titanium X broadhead at 28 yards. We were hunting in the playhouse this afternoon when 2 bucks came out a 7 pt and an 8 pt but neither offered a shot and this tore his nerves slam up watching the bucks but never getting a shot opportunity. Both of the bucks left and a little while later 2 small does came in and one of them gave him a broadside shot and he shot and hit the small doe in the spine instantly dropping the deer with no tracking job the arrow shot through the deer and went about 20 yards into the pines. The Truglo did its job again by punching a nice hole in his deer. Cayden was so excited he was shaking all over, he told me Paw paw I can't keep from shaking so I talked him into taking some deep breaths to help calm himself down and we called my wife and she came out and was able to see his excitement 1st hand and give him a congratulations hug. So far 2 of my 3 grandson's have been able to take deer this year and I've been able to hunt with them on 2 of those kills. I have been truly blessed this year by being able to spend time with my grandsons during these exciting times.

That's just awesome! Tell him congrats. I was with my kids when they each bagged their first deer and I'll never forget either hunt.
