Just wondering , how many practice during hunting season? It has gotten awful warm here in Wisc. and the wind is wrong for my set up so I like to take advantage of my off time and take a few shots just to stay on target.

Re: Just wondering
Honestly between work and home and then the time change there is little time.
Sunday is the only free day off if l hunt Saturday and weeknights so we usually have some family time together and get something to eat.
I would love to practice more its never bad.

I will fire off a shot or two during the season just to make sure things are spot on, of course any mishap gets attention as well!

I shoot all year long, yes even during hunting season. I just like shooting crossbows! Lol The weather in Ripon is amazingly and unusually warm for this time of the year.

Re: Just wondering
I'm right there with you..
I like to practice at least once a week during hunting season.
Saturday I moved my target out to 50 yards to make sure everything is precise.
If I'm confident at 50 yards, then shooting a deer at 30 or 35 yards is much easier.

....would love to....problem; 40 minutes to the range....have to pack all my gear...don't forget bug spray (if warm)....argue with wife; "It's a good day to do work outside!"....nah!, until I get me retired (1438 days) and have acreage to call my own....I will just hang low and start cleaning up "my gear!"

Re: Just wondering
I wouldn't call it practice as much as confirming the setup. I've noticed after a dozen trips to the woods, things aren't always as precise as they were beforehand. All travel is not equal. All it takes is a couple shots with each bow to confirm everything is still spot on, and make minor corrections if needed. I've been known to add enough of my own error to the shot placement. I don't need my setup to add an inch of its own.
