Re: Cocking rope failure
In my opinion using anything less that Amsteel rope or equivalent is asking for trouble. The original string on my C2 was scary to use after a while. Some fraying and flat spots. To calm my nerves while cocking I always use Amsteel rope. The energy contained in a cocked crossbow's limbs is to be respected or else!!.xcaliber wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 12:00 pmGet Amsteel rope, comes in several diameters and lengths, I use around 1/8” with no problems for cocking and stringing aides. I still worry about the hooks and would replace them but with what I don't know. No hooks available from Munch.

Please don't. It's not designed for that much force.

Re: Cocking rope failure
I found what frays the cocking rope on the charger crank. when you pull out the rope to cock the bow pull it straight down , not to a outward position or it will rub on the blue covers and in time will fray the rope . this is what I found.
