Very sad hunting season on our little island

Post by W.Miguire »

Last Sunday eve at the end of the day a fellow from down state was leaving his ground blind and tripped coming out and his gun went off and was killed . what a sad ending to a happy season for all here . so please be careful this season . Their hunting party hunted here for many years.

That is sad, sometimes we get too relaxed with our routines, we forget
about what we are doing and get lazy with safety,
I know I have caught myself doing some really stupid unsafe things. :wtf:
like one time I realized I was pulling up a loaded rifle, barrel up and pointing right at me
So stay focused on what we are doing and ( STAY SAFE )

Happy thanksgiving everyone :D

Just an awful thing to happen. Many years ago a father son went hunting, the kid was 14 years old, and it was his first hunt in his own stand. He dropped his 20 gage shotgun trying to tie it off to lower it down, and he didn't clear the gun. It went off, shot up through the bottom of his stand and went into his thigh, took out his lung on that side, he died before his father got there. You just cannot give these types of incidents any chance of happening.

So sorry to hear this Bill, God Bless the family of this man.

You must always be vigilant any time any type of weapon is involved. Accidents occur. Nearly always there was a "moment in time" that could have been avoided. Slow down, think, then proceed with caution. Ask yourself this question..."Would I allow my 10 year old child/grandchild to do this???"
If the answer is NO, then I'd venture to say, it ain't safe for you either!!

Y'all PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!!!!
