Grains vs grams demystify ?

Post by rabuol »

Demystify grains and grams. My manual says to use minimum of 350 grain bolts. After I screw a 100 grain practice point on my 2219 bolt, the total weight is 30.5 grams.
Is this an acceptable bolt to shoot with my Exomax ?
How do you do the maths? How many grains to a gram ?

Can't do the math part but a Alum bolt @20" with 4" feathers and a 100 grain broad head weighs in at 445 grains and would shoot good from your Max. With 5" vanes it would weigh in at 450 +- a grain or two.

Have you ever tried wroking back energy.....it's quoted in ft/lbs.

Start by converting pounds to grains.

Here you go.....1 pound equals 7000 grains....it's simple arithmatic from there.
