Mini Mag Swat broadhead damage

Post by Boo »

The 195 lb live weight on this guy was calculated from field dressed weight of 155. The weight is just to give you some perspective of the hole size. While not a huge hole, it's a good one that caused the buck to expire in 60 yards. The broadhead severed a rib on it's way out. The hit was a tad high but within 15 yards there was blood spray.

I think that would be a good thing. I’m hoping to someday get a good broadside shot. Congrats!

That's been my experience with the swat heads as well.

I use the xmag with my deathstalker.

Big holes and outrageous blood trails are the Norm!!
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Nice shot.!

I'm leaning towards my thybrids for my javelina ,deer combo hunt next month.
Thinking of shooting them open, instead of closed.
Could change my mind by hunting season.

Probably carry 2 open, 1. Closed. And couple extra regular hybrids.

I'm going to use them as well with the Vortex next fall in the fixed position. Good choice!

Congratulations boo. Yep seems normal .
As said l really wasn't looking for a new broadhead but now I'm kinda hooked on the swat too.
I have 8 doe kills and 2 bucks with the head furthest trail was 60 to 70 yards ...most were under 40 yards thats quite good statistics for me for sure .
Now l have only 1 more doe tag im saving it for after Christmas boredom so l don't turn into that character on the "shining" lololl
Have not been hunting since my last Saturdays buck im already showing signs of hunting withdrawal.... grouchy...moody and missing the woods.
I was gonna do a drive for my brother yesterday but we had terrible weather.

Don, it seems the Swat Broadhead is very well made and performs great. I'm sure this broadhead is here to stay with so many people using it with great results. Congrats on your deer and great shot.
