Son bought me a new crossbow and after about 30 shots I noticed this. Is this normal for these

Nope! That should not be happening though.

So...are you referring to the gouges along side the frame?

Something certainly isn't right. I've got about 400 shots on my Micro 400TD and all I've managed to do is polish camo on the sides of the rail. All of the camo is still intact. I did get a replacement set of hooks because the plastic on the hooks was starting to wear after that many shots at the high draw weight.
Which model of bow is this, and what is being used to cock it? The stock rope or crank, or something else?
It seems like something metal on the inside of the hook on that side may be exposed and is touching the rail. It just looks a bit odd to me because the scratching should be in a straight line along the rail. The line seems to get farther away from the rail as it approaches the latches, but that could just be due to the angle of the photo.
I'm guessing this marking is only on one side of the rail.

The hooks on the cocking device may have the shaft tha holds the wheel protruding a bit. I would check that and see first. It may also have a burr on it.

It’s on both sides it’s almost like the finish did t take. It does not effect the accuracy one bit. It is a suppressor 400 and I am using the crankaroo that came with it.

When your cranking it look to see if the hooks are dragging along the rail

Before you crank it, but after you're all set to cock it, snap a picture, then just wait, someone here will see if there is some issue with the equipment, or method.
