IDK, you would still be getting a mature buck. You cant eat the antlers. Maybe you could find the other one and then send him a bolt for Christmas.
Boo, the kid's right  !! You CAN'T eat antlers no matter how long you boil 'em!!! :

It's a neighborhood buck and no one near these parts hunts. It was kinda whimsical to think about hunting it. I put up a pop up blind and after the big storm it blew away, never replaced it. I know what creek bottom it lives in so maybe this will be a long process to get a crack at him in a year or 2.
Here's one that was caught by a cam going along my fence line. I've only seen it once in the past 8 years and it was too far for even one of my rifles

This is the one I would put real work into if I saw it with any regularity. It or it's progeny, does get spotted every once in a while by various people in the last several years.

Boo...That's a heck of a buck in anybody's world!!
I once killed a huge 10 point on a piece of property that was only 13 acres. The owner said no deer had ever been seen on the land but if I was crazy enough to hunt there I was more than welcome.
Well...November 16th, 1996, I killed my biggest Whitetail to date. I know you've heard me say it before, "big Whitetail bucks don't get big by being stupid". Hence the 166 I killed off of 13 acres.
Big Bucks like sanctuary zones. No people. No dogs barking. No 4-wheelers. No intruders. Basically to create excellent Whitetail habitat you need 3 things. Food, Cover and Water. Meet those needs, and you're more than halfway there.
On the places I hunt, I do all improvements in May and June. After that, I stay off the property until opening day of bow season. Thank GOD for cellular trail cameras!! Bow season starts usually the end of September or first week of October. Does it work all the time? No. But it sure improves my odds, in my humble opinion!!
One place I have which is only 50 acres, is less than a mile from my son-in-law's place. He has had ONE buck on camera all season long. I have bucks almost every day. Not all shooters, but still decent bucks.

Just lucky, I guess!!

Then the question becomes, can I shoot through 6 doghouse mesh windows and still hit the target?
