Stringing aid

Post by seabee401 »

I noticed the newer stringing aids have a flat bottom with half round top. The older ones are just a circle.
Can the newer ones be used with both long limb older models as well as Matrix series bows ? Also, the plastic tubing that is over the string is getting chewed up. Can the stringer be used without the plastic tubing ?
Thanks
Tom

The new Excalibur stringer has no plastic sleeve on it. The hook areas are larger and so is the actual rope. It can be used to restring any Excalibur crossbow. I serve my rope cocker with serving material like Boo suggested. You must be doing a lot of stringing if it's chewing up your stringer! You can go to a hardware store and buy some plastic tubing to replace the one on the older thinner rope cockers. Good luck!
