And so it begins...

Post by DuckHunt »

No, this isn't a post about politics.

And so the long deer hunting off season begins. Saturday I refreshed all five trail cameras and prepped the three stands for the off season. I loosened up all of the chains and straps to allow for tree growth, removed the squirrel food (seat cushions), and took down all of the safety and pull up ropes.

For those that still have some buck season left, here's some incentive. I checked my new Christmas present cam and found these seeds for next season. It's my first StealthCam and I'm impressed, even on the 8MP setting for these photos.

With COVID cancelling the sportsmans shows, it may seem like a longer off season that the last one. It's time to grab the shotgun and head out in search of some geese. The outdoors is still out there. Stay safe!

It's a G45NGMAX2. It has two quick default settings that take photos and one quick default for video. I used one of the quick defaults. Their only limitation is the quick defaults only take 8MP photos. They photos look great, but I'll switch to the custom setting and crank up the resolution a tad the next time I check it to see if things could get even better.

I run a couple SC and use only the custom settings and only use video. They take really good HD video. I run them at 10 sec and 2 minutes between videos.

If you go to photos, leave it at 8mp or the lowest setting. You get more pictures at a lower MP and you will not be able to tell the difference.

I run 16 cams; a mix of Browning, Simmons, Bushnell, SC and a couple China specials from Amazon. I run mostly video as I love watching animals interact and I can get a great look at the animal.
