I'll finish watching that in the morning.

I gotta be honest, when the video started and I saw the little compact scope, I was jumping upside down and had already listed my bolts, I thought that was a compact Burris crossbow scope. Then the Oracle came out of the box, I'll have to continue watching

Looking forward to the day when these new smart rangefinding scopes are half the size and half the price. Glad there will be plenty others to do the field R&D and scale up the quantities in the meantime though :eusa-clap:

There is zero cheek weld and I'm wondering if there is a cheek piece tall enough for the Oracle. Looks more like a chin weld on the video.
Personally I think it looks heavy and big. I wonder how much low light time you lose from the optics?
It isn't exactly expensive compared to some other scopes currently being used by scope snobs at $899 and obviously less money than the Garmin. Burris is a great optics company putting out quality products. It certainly will be good for those who keep on messing up.

At 30.8 ozs it is not exactly light but about the same weight as the Garmin and like said above much cheaper. It also has a 2-7 zoom and a lifetime warranty.
What I don't get after watching the video is Robert said he did not change anything so how does the scope get the info on arrow weight and speed so it can calculate the holdovers to correct the range and dot placement?

Yep I like my scopes as low as possible. Too high for me.

But its a good start...

There has to be a long range calibration like their vertical bow slight.
Just noticed that the Oracle has an anti cant reticle, cool! Still not biting and notgonnahappen.

Yes it has calibration for speed so it knows how to set the holdover dot. I think Robert was saying he expected to do that but it just so happened that out of the box it was set at a default that happened to match his. I wish he would have taken the time to fine tune it even if only by 1 inch at 70 yds.

I also noticed the chin weld height and even left a comment on his video he needs to get an adjustable height cheek rest. And someone needs to show Robert how to adjust brace height. Great channel he has though!

The Sig scopes are traditional styling and lighter and can be mounted much lower. Just saying

A two pound scope...holy moly! - no thanks.

I'll stick to my Kahles Helia 1.6 oz Reflex Sight and just shoot a faster crossbow and practice a bit of holdover at reasonable crossbow ranges.

From a tree stand or ground blind, the weight might not be too much concern.

My concern would be that it likely would make it a heck of a lot more tempting to fling an arrow at an unreasonably distant animal. Having to get a distance reading first, then shoulder the bow, then sight in, might give the brain a better chance to say "no, too far".

Mind you, if somebody was looking for something to complain about, that's likely been raised for each of the earlier models, on a rifle or vertical bow. Shouldn't be any worse for it to be on a crossbow, I guess.
