Turkey Gun pics

Post by janesy »

Just got the beast back from TacOrd. They gave it almost the full treatment, I did not go for loading port machining.

It started out at Christmas as a stock Versamax Tactical, first step was to strip all the tact stuff off lol. 3.5" chamber 22" barrel. It got treated to a bolt lightening, and DLC coating on moving parts. The rest got Coyote Tan and Graphite Black on the controls and lifter. I was able to call in a favour from a supplier and got the last camo stock set in Canada.
The optics mount is just awesome, it's a TacOrd TOMM mount that the vortex Venom Sits right on and places the optics level with the barrel rib. I also totally lucked out and found a 26" barrel and it was done match in case I chase ducks one day.

Sorry for the dark pic, I used my wife's new phone and I can't figure it out. Neither can she 😅

That's one tricked out Versamax. Nice rig.

I let my daughter take mine dove hunting once and I didn't think I'd get it back. She commented that it had practically no recoil with dove loads.

That's good to hear, I only put three target loads through it to confirm it functions, and I was really surprised how it controlled muzzle rise and had little recoil. Felt like it recoiled back but not up. Big change from my old 1187 turkey gun

Deadly!!!
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Nice Chris! Of all the firearms I own, I like shotguns the most! As much as I've been tempted, I've only ever sent one shotgun out to a gunsmith for improvements but nothing like you've done! One question for you. Why the Versamax over something like a Benelli or Beretta?

I can't speak for the versa but l own 5 remington 1100s in various configuration. All were bought many years ago for sub $500 dollar pricing now you see them go for some pretty good money.
My 1100s have just never let me down ever dependable as an excalibur crossbow.
I never felt the need to pay more for a more modern gun that does the same thing.
