Equipment Failure

Post by Hi5 »

This morning, while I was enjoying my coffee, I received a telephone call. The lady said she was calling from Intel Computers. It had been noticed that my computer had been performing in ways that was causing concern. She asked if I had noticed that my computer was acting strangely. Did it seem at times to be extremely slow, for example.

I told the nice lady that my computer was in fact acting very oddly. When I send out a message, I send it out in English. When I get a reply, it comes back in Urdu, and i don't speak or write Urdu.

I guess my phone system is also about to fail, because we got cut off for some reason.

A colleague at work got a call from a Psychic phone hotline one time. He asked the person calling if s/he were really psychic? S/he of course replied, "Yes, I am!" He replied, "Well, that's very strange, because you should already know then that I am not interested!", & then he hung up on them!

Grouse, I don't care if that whole episode was scripted. I don't care if it was rehearsed. I don't care if it is a recording of a couple of actors.

Every time I hear it (after I stop laughing) I feel a wave of jealousy. That is top level writing, even if it is scripted. If it is extemporaneous, that guy is beyond amazing.

Thanks for sharing.
