Great pup Dan!

We took our chocolate lab pup on the boat today. She's a natural swimmer! Lol

She's a cutie Jeff, you should take a week off and teach her to jump off a dock or something

Jeff, a couple years ago my BIL and his son were up in the summer place on Lake Huron, first day fishing and having the boat in the water. Anyway his Lab Lola jumped in the water, 12’ deep. She was 13 then and nearly drowned my nephew and BIL . Be careful in water over Your Head!

I know someone is getting a bit ruffled by my updates, but I don't care. My pup is showing his respect for elders. Too damn cute! He has wonderful social skills, and is so gentle with children, the best pooch I could have asked for.

Don, I forgot how quickly a dog responds to a tad bit of liver sausage, what a training tool!

I gave a bit to my daughter’s dog yesterday and worked with him a while, she said she gave him a dog treat later at home and found that he spit it out in the corner of the room.
She went to get some today.

Everyone has their own training methods but I would only feed them half their food. The other half was held back for training using one kernel at a time. Nothing more willing than a hungry dog! But I had one German Shepherd that could have cared less for food and responded better to praise. He was an awesome dog!

That is a rare dog Boo! My little buddy figured it out real fast when I would take out with, or without some in my pocket. He pays much better attention if he knows ahead of time he's being evaluated.
A good friend of mine said this a little while ago, he said immediately stop taking the treats out, and let he get a whiff before you head out, and leave it there so the pooch knows. Tomorrow I'm going to start that, he likes praise, but loves liver sausage. :eusa-popcorn:

Smart dogs can be a pain! The very best dog I ever had was a one man dog. She left my side a year ago yesterday and I'm still heart broken. Anyways, the moment you put a collar with weight on it, she stopped and walked a perfect heel. During training for field trials she had an E collar put on because she had an incontrollable urge to drive towards the game and would break. So when I first got her I would tape a shotgun shell to her collar to stop her from running after game for a mile or more. That dog won national championships in Canada and the US before she was 2. She was a highly intelligent dog!
